Inspirational cyclists offered free training to become Ride Leaders
Local people with a passion for cycling, with heaps of enthusiasm and who are happy to support beginner bike riders, are being offered the chance of free training to become part of the West Yorkshire team of Ride Leaders.
All the training needed is offered for free on a one-day course on Saturday 21st March 2015 in Huddersfield. The assessed one-day course offers a qualification that will enable the delivery of guided bike rides for groups of beginner and intermediate level adults, and accompanied children on roads and cycle paths.
In addition, participants will receive many other benefits, including a branded kit, British Cycling Ride membership, and payment for leading and assisting on rides.
Ride Leaders will need to be flexible with their weekend availability and commit to leading guided rides on no less than four weekends during 2015. All rides are delivered on set routes and times, specified by British Cycling, the majority of rides will take place on Sundays during the spring and summer months.
If you love cycling and are always trying to get people to give it a go, you could be just the sort of person that British Cycling and Kirklees Council are looking for.
You don’t need to be a cycling expert or competitive racer, just be confident riding in a group and have a good level of cycling fitness. We welcome all kinds of cyclists as long as you have saddlebags of enthusiasm and you’re happy to support beginner bike riders and families.
