Scooper Heroes - James ShelburnScooper Heroes - Malcolm James Shelburn, from Liversedge and Malcolm Heathcote from Moldgreen have won a doggy hampers after proving themselves to be true scooper heroes.

They were entered into a raffle to win a hamper after school children taking part in the big scoop saw them cleaning up after their dogs.

Kids from schools across Kirklees spent the day in their local area,  handing out poo bags and leaflets,  to  raise awareness and encourage dog owners to clear up after their pooches.

The raffle tickets were given out by the children and the council’s street scene action team whenever they saw a conscientious dog owner.

The hampers for the raffle prizes were donated by the Pets at Home Dewsbury and Huddersfield stores and are worth £25 each.

The big scoop is a national campaign run by the Dogs Trust and Keep Britain Tidy who have provided the materials including the capes and rosettes free of charge.
