If you are looking for a fun, free, family event this summer then look no further than Dewsbury’s flame celebration event.

The event brings a variety of fun sports and activities to the beautiful surroundings of Crow Nest Park on Thursday 30 July 2015, between 11am and 3pm.

The young and young-at-heart alike are invited to get active and enjoy much loved favourites like cycling and tennis, or to try out the more adventurous sports such as archery and fencing, as well as wheelchair rugby and battax wall.

Other activities include garden games from giant Jenga to Connect 4, as well as golf, boccia, football, cricket and a fun run. Dance acts and musical talents will also provide live entertainment.

Cllr Jean Calvert, Cabinet Member for community development said:

“ I would encourage everyone to come along to this event, which allows people of all abilities to come together and take part in fun sporting activities. We never know what to expect from our British summer weather – but hopefully it will be sunny so that the whole family can go along with a picnic, folding chairs, or rugs to enjoy a relaxing day in the park.”

Young people, adults with a disability and their families are particularly welcome to join in.

Changing facilities are available.
