Dalton Bank Road Bridge to close for 3 weeks
The bridge at Dalton Bank Road in Colne Bridge, Huddersfield will close for 3 weeks from Monday 2 November 2015.
The closure is part of a £300,000 scheme that will strengthen and refurbish the bridge. Strengthening work began in late August, but is now at the stage where it needs to be fully closed so the work can be finished.
The temporary road closure will begin at 6am on Monday 2 November and will last for about 3 weeks.
During this time the contractor will complete the strengthening and refurbishment of the bridge from above. This will include the removal of all existing barrier restrictions on the carriageway, including the temporary traffic lights on the bridge so that the road can be fully reopened to two-way traffic.
Access to properties and businesses located either side of the bridge will not be affected by the temporary road closure and will be maintained at all times.
A diversion has been set up and signs will be in place to ensure the smooth flow of affected traffic throughout the closure.
