Still time to vote for your favourite at Batley Art Gallery
You’ve got until Saturday 14 November 2015 to visit Batley Art Gallery and vote for your favourite piece of art – there’s 109 artworks by 50 artists to choose from! The winning artist will be awarded a solo exhibition at the gallery in the New Year.
The exhibition opened early in October 2015 and has received high praise for its impressive variety of well-presented artworks, which range from the purely abstract to detailed photorealist studies – there’s something for all tastes.
The selections for the exhibition were made by Gary Makin, an accomplished artist and recent exhibitor at the gallery; and Tom Ratcliffe – who has shown work regularly in the Batley Open and worked extensively in art education.
What you’ve said so far…
– “This exhibition gets better every year!”
– “Such a wide variety, very pleasing!”
– “More please!”
Mark Milnes, exhibitions coordinator at the gallery said:
We’re really pleased with this year’s response. We’ve had a good set of entries and the public have been really responsive to our voting process. There’s been a spread of votes, but we have two clear favourites at the moment. It could all change though!”
