Paris Condolences

Paris Condolences

Books of Condolence are to be opened at Dewsbury and Huddersfield Town Halls from midday on Tuesday 17 November 2015 for people to add messages of sympathy following the Paris terror attacks.

The Books of Condolence will then be available in the reception areas from 9am – 5pm until Tuesday 24 November 2015.

The flags on both Dewsbury and Huddersfield Town Halls will be flying at half-mast until sunset on Monday 16 November 2015.

Mayor of Kirklees, Cllr Paul Kane said:

I have written to the Mayor of Paris on behalf of Kirklees to pass on our thoughts and condolences at this sad time. The shocking activities of Friday have been felt around Europe, and have reminded us that atrocities like these take place across the world, and affect the lives of innocent people going about their daily lives. My thoughts are with the people of Paris and victims of terrorism worldwide.

Please take the time to share your messages of sympathy in the books or if you can’t get to a book please email mayors.office@kirklees.gov.uk and we will print them out and include them.”
