Arts in the Neighbourhood awards £10,000 to local arts projects

Arts in the Neighbourhood

Arts projects in our area are benefitting from the Arts in the Neighbourhood Grants Scheme. Our scheme has awarded £10,000 to local community projects in its most recent round of funding.

Batley Can!

One of the projects that received our funding was Batley Can! – A series of art workshops for local people where they were encouraged to make items out of trash and get into the spirit of recycling at the same time.

‘Routes and Roots’

Another recipient was Connect Housing Association’s project ‘Routes and Roots’ – a series of photographic workshops for four socially and geographically distinct groups exploring the themes of neighbourhood.

Other projects

Other projects we have supported include Huddersfield Literature Festival 2016, Golcar Lily Day 2016, and Holmfirth Festival of Folk 2016.

Our scheme offers grants between £150 and £2,000 as a contribution to arts and cultural projects that benefit and involve local people.

The deadline for the final round of funding in 2015-16 is 31 January 2016 (for projects taking place from 1 April 2016 onwards).

You must have successfully registered with the Kirklees Grants Access Point by 3 January 2016 to apply for this round of our funding
