Resurfacing

Motorists on one of our main roads between Cleckheaton and Heckmondwike will face 8 weeks of disruption when we start essential resurfacing work on Monday 29 February.

How will the area be affected?

The resurfacing will take place on the A638 Bradford Road between Manor Park Road and Leeds Road in Liversedge between the 29 February and 22 April 2016.

The work will see one section of the A638 between Ings Road and Leeds Road completely closed to traffic on Sundays between 8am and 5pm. We will put in place a sign posted diversion route, but we are advising motorists to leave additional time for their journey.

The remaining sections will stay open, however temporary traffic lights will be in place whilst work is being carried out. In order to avoid rush hour traffic, work will take place from Knowler Hill to Ings Road between 9.30am -3.30pm and from Manor Park Road to Knowler Hill between 6.30pm and 11pm.

We will keep neighbouring premises informed of developments, and will aim to minimise disruption and disturbance wherever possible.

  • I live on Bradford road outside spenborough swimming bath and I think who ever is trying to spend money or make excuses for spending is so so wrong I found “found” the roads perfectly fine example listing lane drive up there and you will find pot holes that will damage your vechile, how can we save money as a country when spending unnecessary. I really do find it so fustrating when all these cuts, but 50! Men on an evening working on a road that doesn’t need re surfacing. And if I remember rightly wasn’t that long ago that is was done so puzzling . And I seen the guys replacing man hole lids and didn’t give a flying fuck about any debris going down drains so fustrating
