Fun with colours on Science Week
You and your kids are invited to have ‘Fun with Colours’ in celebration of British Science Week at a special afternoon of activities at Oakwell Hall in Birstall on Sunday, 13 March.
British Science Week (11-20 March) promotes science, technology, engineering and maths with a range of fascinating and engaging events and activities across the country.
Our Oakwell’s event is being supported by Birstall-based PPG Industries, one of the world’s largest suppliers of paints and other industrial coatings, and so the theme will be colour and some of the science behind colour.
Fun activities will include colour chemistry demonstrations, a big colour by numbers activity, a look at how our eyes see colour, and how light can be split into different colours.
You can also get your hands dirty with craft activities including making rainbows, rainbow spiders, mirror image painting, dyeing and marble oil painting.
