Kirklees shares condolences following Brussels attacks
Books of Condolence are to be opened at Dewsbury and Huddersfield Town Halls from 4pm on Wednesday 23 March for people to add messages of sympathy following the Brussels terror attacks.
The Books of Condolence will then be available in the reception areas from 9am – 5.00pm until Friday 1 April (apart from Good Friday and Easter Monday).
Town Hall flags will be flying at half-mast until 8pm on Thursday 24 March.
Mayor of Kirklees, Cllr Paul Kane said:
Once again my heart goes out to our neighbours in Europe in the wake of the shocking events yesterday in Brussels. Once more the lives of innocent people going about their daily lives have been affected. My thoughts and condolences are with the people of Brussels and victims of terrorism worldwide.
Please take the time to share your messages of sympathy in the books or if you can’t get to the book please email firstname.lastname@example.org and we will print them out and include them in the book.”
