Following a successful run of litter picks since April last year,  we are once again asking willing volunteers to help them keep Castle Hill litter free.A landscape view of Castle Hill above Huddersfield

With the summer season upon us, the popular tourist attraction and Huddersfield landmark has seen an increase of visitors. With nearly 3 thousand people visiting the Victoria Tower since Easter.

Castle Hill is one of the most important Iron Age Hill forts in the north of England and for visitors to enjoy it at its best it needs to be litter free.

The next litter pick will take place on Friday 17 June from 10 am to 12 noon and is open to all. Gloves and litter pickers will be provided.

Julian Brown, Castle Hill ranger said: “We are extremely grateful to volunteers who come and litter pick and to those who use the bins or take their litter home. Both staff and volunteers litter picking together can make all the difference for visitors”

Anyone interested in taking part please contact Julian Brown, Castle Hill Ranger on 07968 426312.
