Kirklees shares condolences following Nice attack

Books of Condolence are to be opened at Dewsbury and Huddersfield Town Halls from 9am – 2pm on Saturday 16 July for people to add messages of sympathy following the Nice terror attack.

The Books of Condolence will then be available in the reception areas from 9am – 5pm until Friday 22 July 2016.

The flags on both Dewsbury and Huddersfield Town Halls will also be flown at half-mast.

Mayor of Kirklees, Cllr Jim Dodds said:

Once again, we have woken to news of shocking events in France and further attacks on innocent people going about their daily lives. I have written to the Mayor of Nice on behalf of Kirklees to pass on our thoughts and condolences at this sad time.

Please take the time to share your messages of sympathy in the books or if you can’t get to a book please email mayors.office@kirklees.gov.uk and we will print them out and include them.”
