Help Stop Hate Crime in Kirklees

It’s Hate Crime Awareness Week and we’d like your help to create a Kirklees which is free from hate crime.  Hate Crime happens when a person is targeted due to their disability, race, sexual orientation, religion or transgender.

Kirklees Council work in partnership with the West Yorkshire Police to provide support and guidance to victims who experience hate crime and take positive action against perpetrators. They send out a clear message that hate crime will not be tolerated in Kirklees and are working to create an environment where hate crime is not acceptable. They response to hate crime at the earliest possible opportunity, minimising the impact it has on communities and residents.

It’s now easier than ever to report homophobic and other hate crimes in Kirklees, with the smartphone app service.  You can help by finding out about hate crimes, including reporting incidents and download the app at www.kirklees.gov.uk/hatereporting
