To mark Kirklees Learning Week 2016, Kirklees Mayor Cllr Jim Dodds has invited schools and other learning providers to hold activities throughout the week. The activities are open to children, parents, teachers and governors as well as the general public.

Cllr Jim Dodds with Kirklees Learning Week 2016 flagAcross Kirklees, almost nine out of ten schools have received outstanding or good ratings from Ofsted, which means the district is above the national average.

Mayor of Kirklees Cllr Jim Dodds said:

“Our schools, colleges and university have received national recognition for the amazing work they do. We are lucky to have high quality community learning and a fantastic apprenticeship programme with the help of local businesses. For Kirklees Learning Week we want to celebrate the learning that takes place in Kirklees across all ages and shout about it.”
