Ben Morris performs at Huddersfield Town Hall
One of the UK’s most talented organists comes to Huddersfield Town Hall on 14 November 2016. Ben Morris is, at only 25, Assistant Director of Music at York Minster.
For his second visit to the Father Willis organ in Huddersfield, he brings a programme spanning four centuries, from the magnificent Fantasia in G of Bach to the recently composed Conversations by Ian Farrington.
The full programme includes Fiat Lux by Dubois, Cantabile by Franck, Sonata 6 by Mendelssohn, Conversions by Farrington, Fantasia in G by Bach, Clair de Lune by Karl-Elert and Sonata in G (first movement) by Elgar.
Ben Morris is a fine young player, and this is a perfect lunchtime town hall programme – definitely not one to miss!
To make the concerts even more special, why not come early and enjoy a bite to eat and some pre-concert chat with other audience members. Competitively priced lunches, with a choice of sandwiches, soup, cakes and hot beverages, are served in the Old Court Room from 11.30am. Many regular concert-goers comment on how wonderfully friendly and sociable these daytime concerts are – the perfect way to while away an afternoon!
These concerts are very well priced at only £5.
