Kirklees Council website and phone issues

UPDATE – 30 December 2016:
Our main phone lines are now working. If you call 01484 221000 and ask for the service you want then a customer service officer will try to help you.
Examples of areas you can ask for are: Bins, Benefits, Council tax, or Housing Repairs.
Please be aware that lines are likely to be busy.
We are continuing to carry out some testing on our other systems, including the website. We will bring these back online as soon as possible, but some systems may not be fully functional straight away. Some services may also take longer than others to bring back online.
Thank you for your patience so far, please continue to bear with us whilst we get everything back to normal.
We are experiencing problems with our Kirklees Council website, emails and telephone lines. We are working hard to fix this and to get services back to normal as soon as possible. In the meantime we appreciate your patience.

Whilst our phone lines and web sites are unavailable it is even more important that we make sure older and vulnerable residents are looked after. We would be very grateful if you could check in on your neighbours or relatives at this time to make sure they have everything they need.

Hi Kevin
Thanks for your comment. Our customer service centres and library information centres as listed on the article are open. We have now opened up our phone lines as well, so anyone who needs to to talk urgently to someone can also call 01484 221000.
Hope that helps

Re your post at 10.12am asking people to visit customer service centres if they urgently need to talk to someone – it’s my understanding that some of these information centres have been closed down so you may want to establish which ones are still open.
Hi Susie
Many thanks for the reply.Much appreciated at what must be a very busy time for you.
Many thanks for your two replies- much appreciated.
Hi,

Hi Peter
The next scheduled bin collections are for next week, if the system is still down mid afternoon we will update. We have also just opened our phone lines so if you need this information in advance you could call 01484 221000 and ask for ‘bins’. The lines are likely to be busy so if you call please be patient.
Please accept my apologies for any inconvenience caused by the problems with our systems.
Thanks
Susie
Good morning. Anyone on here today?
Hi Frances
If you can send me your postcode and house number (you can email me at pressoffice@kirklees.gov.uk) I will try and get hold of your collection dates.
Thanks
Susie
Hi Sue
Please accept my apologies for the issues with the website, and for you not receiving a calendar. Our teams work bank holidays throughout the year except for Christmas, Boxing Day and New Year. Over the winter holidays we try to provide the fairest collection system we can, for both staff and residents, but it is inevitable that bin collections will be disrupted over this period.
Where possible we try and encourage people to take extra rubbish to the Household Waste Recycling Centres.
If you can give me your postcode and house number I will try and find out when your bin will be next emptied
Thanks
Susie
