Our school chef is the best in the country

Congratulations to Ravensthorpe Junior School Catering Supervisor Tracy Healey who has been crowned the queen of the kitchen at the final of the LACA school chef of the year competition.
The competition tests the chef’s preparation, creativity, technical ability, presentation and most of all – cooking skills.
Tracy, who works for Kirklees Council Catering Service secured her place in the final after winning regional heats in Kirklees and the Yorkshire & Humber region.
Each chef had to design and produce a healthy, balanced two-course meal to appeal to year six pupils to take part in the competition.
What did Tracy cook for the national final?
Main Course
Lamb kofta and cherry tomato skewers
served with coconut rice, homemade potato flatbread and salad with a yoghurt and mint dressing
Dessert
