What happened during the ceremony?

The ceremony involved ‘proposing’ the new Mayor (6 minutes 20 seconds) and the proposal seconded, while she, and her consort received the Mayoral chains (29 minutes 2 seconds), to which Cllr Iredale then became our new Mayor.

We got a musical interlude while the switching of the Mayoral clothing took place, from the U3A ladies choir (16 minutes 45 seconds), where they sang 3 songs.

Our former-Mayor, Cllr Jim Dodds was thanked by councillors (46 minutes 5 seconds), and he gave his thanks while receiving a past Mayor’s badge.

Our new Deputy Mayor, Cllr Gwen Lowe, then gained her robes (58 minutes 50 seconds), and gave her thanks.
