Kirklees Based General Election Results

People from across Kirklees turned out for the snap election on 8 June 2017. After counting through the night we can now announce that the results for the four constituencies in Kirklees are as follows:

Huddersfield Constituency

Barry Sheerman held the seat with 26,470 votes

Conservative, Scott Benton  – Votes 14,465

Green Party, Andrew Cooper  – Votes 1,395

Liberal Democrat, Zulfiqar Ali  – Votes 1,155

The Yorkshire Party, Bikatshi Katenga  – Votes 274

Independent, Marteen Thokkudubiyyapu – Votes 75

Colne Valley Constituency

Thelma Walker gained the seat with 28,818 votes

Conservative, Jason McCartney  – Votes 27,903
Liberal Democrat, Cahal Burke – Votes 2,494
Green Party, Sonia King – Votes 892
Independent, Patricia Sadio – Votes 313

Dewsbury Constituency

Paula Sherriff held the seat with 28,814 votes

Other candidates received the following votes:

Conservative, Beth Prescott – Votes 25,493
Liberal Democrat, Ednan Hussain – Votes 1,214
Green Party, Simon Cope – Votes 1,024

Batley and Spen Constituency

Tracy Brabin held the seat with 29,844 votes

Other candidates received the following votes:
