‘Falls Prevention Week 2017: We’ve got something planned…
We are hosting an event in St George’s Square to promote the importance of balance throughout our lives for ‘Falls Prevention Week 2017’.
What will be taking place in St George’s Square?
On Friday 28 July 2017, at 12:15pm, there with be a variety of activities happening, along with music throughout.
West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service:
Not only will we have the firefighters, who are there to talk about the importance of balance in their jobs – we’ll also have their fire engine too, so you can take a look around the large vehicle to see just what it’s like when they’re out battling fires.
Locala Community Partnerships:
Our friends over at Locala will also be attending, so you get to talk to a real falls prevention practitioner and find out exactly what they get up to.
Mayor of Kirklees:
Cllr Christine Iredale will also be attending in her Mayoral role, so why not talk to Christine about falls prevention week, or grab a selfie with her?
Games we’ve ‘Comoodle-d’:
While you’re talking to our guests, we’ve also got a fun game of GIANT JENGA you can play with, thanks to our sharing service, Comoodle.
We’ve also got something special planned…
Not only are there all these cool activities and amazing people to meet with – but we’ve got a special performance planned.
We’ll be recording the amazing performance in St George’s Square, so don’t worry if you can’t make it – this will be posted to our Facebook page.
How do I attend the event?
The event will be taking place on Friday 28 July 2017, at 12:15pm – the special performance is set to begin at 12:30pm – but we advise you get there a little bit earlier to experience some of our fun activities.
