Batley East By-Election Results

3437 people turned out for the Batley East By-Election on Thursday 26 October 2017.
This was just over 25% of the ward’s electorate.

The results of the election are as follows:

Labour Party Candidate, Habiban Nisa Zaman – 2640 votes
Conservative Candidate, Paul Young – 443 votes
Liberal Democrat Candidate, Jon Robert Bloom – 136 votes
The Local Independents – Heavy Woollen District Candidate, Aleks Lukic – 140 votes
The Green Party Candidate – David Michael Smith – 70 votes

This means that Labour gain the seat from Independent with Habiban Zaman becoming Batley East’s newest Councillor. This means that Labour now have 33 Cllrs
