Lucky resident wins iPad with the My Kirklees Account
Signing up for an online My Kirklees account has already paid off for one lucky prize-winner from Huddersfield.
Philip Hope won an iPad after signing up for our new online account – My Kirklees – and being entered into a prize draw.
Nearly 4000 of you have already registered for an account since its launch at the end of November.
The My Kirklees account is easy to use, and once signed up, you can:
- view and manage your council tax account
- check bin collection dates, report missed bin collections and get updates
- manage your Kirklees Neighbourhood Housing rent account
- access information about your housing benefit payments
- Report a housing repair
- view your ward and councillors
- Apply for a waste permit
All without the need to wait in a telephone queue or make a journey to visit a customer service centre which will allow Kirklees Council to deliver services more cost effectively.
Services available through the My Kirklees Account will increase over time and will allow you to tell us about a change in your circumstances for housing benefit, and report environmental and community safety issues.
The prize draw was offered as an incentive for residents to sign up to use the website – and Philip was thrilled when he found out he’d won:
“I’m really pleased to have won this prize, using online services means I can access the services I need at a time to suit me, and this iPad is another device I can use to do that.”
Philip received his prize at Huddersfield Customer Service Centre from Councillor Graham Turner.
Want a chance to win an IPad?
We’ll be encouraging even more people to register and access council services online. We’ll be offering another chance for residents to win an iPad in the New Year so look out for details on our website and social media channels soon.
