Explore the stories of Holocaust survivors who have settled in Yorkshire

Huddersfield Local Studies Library is hosting a special talk on the Holocaust, on Wednesday 17 January 2018 in the light reading room at 1pm.

The talk, ‘The Holocaust: An International Story with Local Significance’, is being presented by Jayne Leach from the University of Huddersfield and is all about Holocaust survivors that have settled in Yorkshire.

The stories have been gathered by the Holocaust Survivor’s Friendship Association – a Leeds based charity established by survivors for survivors.

The charity has been working with the University of Huddersfield to create a permanent exhibition in the new Holocaust Heritage and Learning Centre.

During the talk, Jayne will introduce the centre, and use photos and videos to share the testimonies of two of the survivors featured in the exhibition.

There will also be an opportunity to find out how to get involved with the new centre and to ask questions.

The event is free, but places should be booked online or by contacting the Local Studies Library on 01484 221000 extension no.79753
