Did you visit Cliffe House as a child?
Can you believe Cliffe House has been an outdoor centre for 70 years?
If you visited as a child why not come along and join in with a weekend of exciting activities on 30 June and 1 July from 10am to 4pm.
Take a tour of Cliffe House
During the weekend there will be guided history tours by people who have a close connection to the house. They’ll share their stories as they take you around the rooms, many of which will be decorated as they were in previous decades including the evacuee room, butler’s room, maid’s room.
You will even be able to relive the classroom experience with a creature and plant workshop run by a past teacher.
Fun for all the family
It’s not all about the past, there are also lots of present day activities for children to enjoy including bushcraft, archery and climbing, and the adventure playground will be open as usual. There will be refreshments on offer including a barbecue and a bar, or you can bring a picnic.
Reliving the past
Denby Dale Rainbows group will be taking the train from Denby Dale to Shepley then taking part in a treasure trail up to Cliffe House dressed as evacuees before singing and having a picnic on the lawn.
