Tolson summer holiday activity days

Fantastic, family fun at Tolson Museum this summer holiday. Take a look at what the Romans did 2000 years ago and what life was like for them. The activities are inspired by the museum’s Roman displays which families can take the opportunity to look at during their visit.

What’s happening?

Great craft activities like spinning wool and making cuffs and bangles. Children will be able to try on a Roman costume and learn about daily life by handling Roman objects.

When is it?

The first holiday session on 1 August will look at daily life as a Roman, youngsters will look at what they ate and what they wore plus much more.

The second session on 15 August will look at life as a Roman soldier, what they wore and weapons they used. Youngsters will also learn about the Roman fort at Slack.

Both sessions are from 12noon to 4pm. The cost is £2 per child and no booking is necessary.
