Your vote could secure funding for local community projects

As part of our ‘It’s Up To You’ funding programme, local residents and community groups have recently been submitting ideas they think will make a difference locally.
How can I find out about the ideas?
We are now inviting residents to one of a series of information events taking place during October to hear these ideas, meet the people behind them and vote for the ones they think will benefit their community most.
What happens to the winners?
The winning projects with the most votes will receive funding of up to £100 for individuals, or £500 for groups, to help them put their plans into action.
Cllr Naheed Mather cabinet member for Communities and Environment said:
“Your vote counts so join your friends and neighbours and come along to an event near you.
It will be really interesting to hear the variety of ideas, all of which have been created by, and for, local people.
There could be anything from sports projects to conversations celebrating culture and social action project ideas, so make sure you vote for the one you want to see happen in your community.”
Winning projects from previous years include activities for young people, events that bring people together in neighbourhoods, day trips and visits to local places of interest, sports and healthy living projects and many more.
