Castle Hill calls for volunteer litter pickers

Where and when is the litter pick?

Our Green Flag Award winning Castle Hill is asking willing volunteers to join us and help collect litter on Friday 16 August from 10:00am till 12:00pm; gloves and litter pickers will be provided.

Why are we asking people to help?

We’re expecting a very busy summer season. Victoria Tower at the prestigious, site has also been opened for the summer; meaning the site has already been extra busy with visitors.

Important information for visitors

There is a Public Order under the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 in force on which prohibits any person that may light a firework; or barbeque; or release a sky lantern; or a balloon on all land owned by Kirklees Council, the National Trust and Yorkshire Water.  Any person who fails to comply may be issued with a fixed penalty notice not exceeding £75.00.

How to get involved

Anyone interested in taking part in the volunteer litter pick can contact Julian Brown, Castle Hill Ranger on 07870 570914 or email julian.brown@kirklees.gov.uk for details.
