Caring for the vulnerable – Leading the fight in Kirklees

Councillor Musarrat Khan is taking a leading role in protecting the borough’s vulnerable adults during the coronavirus pandemic.

Cabinet Members at Kirklees Council now each have new priorities which focus on the issues that matter most during the coronavirus pandemic such as protecting lives, businesses and communities across the borough.

Several Cabinet Members will also work towards the council’s long-term strategy for the post-Coronavirus era.

Councillor Khan will lead on the council’s statutory responsibility for vulnerable adults.

Councillor Khan said: “This crisis has meant changes to many of our services. But our commitment to the most vulnerable in our communities remains the same.

“I will be leading our work to safeguard people in Kirklees for whom this pandemic could be most difficult. It might mean delivering services in a different way but I will work with staff, partners and service users to maintain high standards.”
