Cabinet Members at Kirklees Council now each have new priorities which focus on the issues that matter most during the coronavirus pandemic such as protecting lives, businesses and communities across the borough.
Several Cabinet Members will also work towards the council’s long-term strategy for the post-Coronavirus era.
Councillor Kendrick will lead the council’s work in protecting and supporting children.
Councillor Kendrick said: “Children are always our priority in Kirklees. The disruption caused by Coronavirus on services and life in general make it all the more important for us to keep young people safe.
“These are difficult times for everyone but with schools largely closed, we must remain vigilant and maintain vital services to our most vulnerable residents. That will be my priority over the coming weeks and months.”
