Bringing adult social care into the digital age
With £120,000 funding from the Local Government Association (LGA) and NHS Digital we are making big changes to how our service users and carers access their adult social care accounts.
Currently, information is only available to our service users and carers through phone and face to face appointments – not ideal for those balancing life and care. But with this new funding we have explored how to revolutionise our accounts and enable customers/carers to access their care accounts 24 hours a day.
Accessing adult social care accounts online will enable users to have unlimited access to personal care and support plans as well as the ability to;
- update personal contact details, support network and carers information
- check the next scheduled review date
- quickly book non-complex review appointments
- simply find the contact details of allocated social workers
- and much more
The new My Care Account will be bolted onto our residential My Kirklees online account, with the digitalisation of accounts creating a more convenient future for adult social care users and carers. However, our ‘Gateway to Care’ phone line will still be available when the new digital My Care Account is launched.
We need your help
We are now in the final phases of development and are looking for 60 service users or carers to be part of this exciting development and pilot the digital account from September, before we offer this upgrade to all our adult social care users.
If you are a Kirklees adult social care service user or carer and would like to be involved in testing or piloting the care account to give your feedback, please register your interest through the participant sign up form or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org with your full name and contact details including telephone number.
