A year to go until Rugby League World Cup 2021
With exactly one year to go, the ballot for tickets for the Rugby League World Cup 2021 is now open, including the Men’s Quarter Final in Kirklees.
RLWC2021 comes to England
On 12 November 2021 Huddersfield’s John Smith’s Stadium will play host to a men’s quarter final when the RLWC2021 comes to England next year.
The public ticket ballot
The public ticket ballot – the first in Rugby League World Cup history – opened at 9am on 23 October 2020 (exactly a year before the tournament kicks off) and will remain open for applications until 16 November 2020 at 20:21 – apply now.
Councillor Shabir Pandor, Leader of Kirklees Council, said:
“This is set to be the biggest and best ever Rugby League World Cup and we’re really proud to be a part of that.
“We’re absolutely delighted to be one of the hosts of the Rugby League World Cup 2021 and we cannot wait for one of the Quarter Final matches to take place here at Huddersfield’s John Smith’s Stadium.
“Huddersfield and rugby league have a very special bond, with the sport being founded here at the George Hotel 125 years ago.
“We recently won a bid to create a national rugby league museum in the George Hotel and the support we received from fans across the world has been overwhelming. So, we know how excited rugby league fans will be to visit the town where it all began and watch a World Cup Quarter Final match.”
Fans will be able to apply for tickets for each of the 61 matches across all three tournaments (Men’s, Women’s and Wheelchair), with tickets in each price band at every game available, including the men’s quarter-final at the John Smith’s Stadium in Huddersfield.
Should you miss out on tickets when your match ballot is drawn, ‘Powerplay’ automatically puts you into the ballot for tickets to the same match but in the next price category up. RLWC2021 will run the lowest priced ballots first so if you use Powerplay, your original choice will always be given priority.
