Kirklees businesses surveyed over pandemic impact and UKs transition from the EU

We want to know how local businesses are continuing to be affected by the coronavirus pandemic and how prepared they are for Britain’s imminent transition from the EU.

To gather their views we have set up an online survey, which business owners can complete until 22 November 2020.

This short survey should take less than 5 minutes to fill in, and we will use the results to plan what support we should offer businesses over the coming months and into the future.

Cllr Peter McBride Cabinet Member for Regeneration said:

“There’s no doubt that these are incredibly challenging times for businesses with local and national restrictions impacting on all aspects on their operations.  In addition, some companies will have the challenge of the country leaving the EU by the end of the year to understand and manage, as well as new market opportunities.

The end of the transition period will affect businesses and citizens, as well as travel to and from the EU.

Our business and skills team have been busy supporting local businesses since March, signposting them to help, advice and funding, and have helped to distribute over £100m in business grants.

The business survey will help us to understand where this support is needed most and help us to plan for the long-term so that we can support businesses to recover and build resilience.”
