We are joining forces with other Yorkshire councils to support local children
We are delighted to join forces with other Yorkshire councils to support local children by launching Foster4Your Council.
The new partnership encourages people and families across our great county to consider part-time and full-time fostering in their local communities.
By fostering for your council, you ensure that vulnerable children and young people in care can continue to live within their local areas, stay close to birth families and attend their local schools.
All council fostering teams are not-for-profit, so all resources are spent on supporting children in care and their carers. The Foster4Your Council partnership is between Kirklees, Bradford, Leeds, Calderdale, Wakefield, North Yorkshire, York and Hull.
The new website is now live – please visit www.Foster4YourCouncil.org for more information and to register your interest in becoming a foster carer.
Cllr Viv Kendrick, Cabinet Member for Children, said: “It’s fantastic to be launching Foster4Your Council. Working in partnership enables councils across Yorkshire to achieve our ultimate shared goal of building brighter futures for children in our care.
“Fostering for your local authority is so important in helping children to stay connected with their friends and their sense of identity. By increasing the numbers and diversity of foster carers across Yorkshire’s local authorities, we will have more choice available when matching a child with a family.
“Foster4YourCouncil is a great way to support vulnerable children and the people who foster them. It is another step forward in the work we all do together in helping children to enjoy a happy and loving family home.”
