Storytrails: Hairy Maclary and Friends

Explore your local area and search for Hairy Maclary and his friends on our February half-term storytrails.

Pick up a collecting sheet and map from the library, follow the route to find the pictures and piece together the story then swap your completed collecting sheet back at the library to get a badge.

Chol Theatre: “CLICK! The Internet genie”

CLICK: The Internet Genie is an impactful and engaging piece of interactive theatre exploring internet safety, free to community groups and venues for young people between the 10th and 22nd February 2020. The show is suitable for young people aged 7 – 11 and their parents.

During the show your young people will meet Amelia and Adam, who are both contacted by a mysterious genie online. The genie offers Amelia 3 wishes, and Adam a membership in an elite gaming club. To get their prizes, the genie asks them to prove themselves through a series of challenges. Both of them try to keep the genie a secret from their parents. It’s up to your young people to show Amelia and Adam how to avoid genies online, and stay safe.

Mrs Sunderland Festival

One of the largest festivals of music, speech and drama in the country with over 140 classes for piano, instrumental, vocal, choirs and speech and drama. Something for everyone from musical theatre to opera, choirs and ensembles, plus lots of classes for the public to join in with.
