I Am Nefertiti storytrail

“I Am Nefertiti” is the perfect book to get us out and about and making some noise on this musical, self-led Storytrail. Drop in to the library anytime within the 2 hours to create your very own instrument, before venturing out to follow our trail of posters and stopping at each one to scan the code an hear the instrument.

Each Peach Pear Plum Trail

Find your way around the Walled Garden at Oakwell by following the clues from the rhyme.

When? Saturday 11 February – Sunday 19 February, 10:00 am – 3.30 pm

Children’s Half Term Crafts

Get creative and make Celtic and Roman tealight holders, Holi silk cards, 3D Valentine’s Day Cards or African Shaker Instruments.

Huddersfield Mrs Sunderland Festival 2023

Huddersfield Mrs Sunderland Festival is one of the largest festivals in the country, attracting well over 4000 performers during its eleven day event in Huddersfield Town Hall with many hundreds more in audiences. Instrumental, vocal, choirs, musical theatre, speech and drama classes for all ages and abilities are complemented by a series of workshops for adult singers, special needs schools, key stage two schools, music for the brain and toddler workshops

Let the little ones spread some kindness this half-term. Go on a hunt to find a rock or stone and either paint or decorate it with a positive message and when you next go out for a walk, hide it for someone else to find!

Activities to do at Cliffe House

Archery

Join our activity instructors in learning how to draw the arrow, balance the bow & fire at a distance target – Challenge your family members as to who can score the greatest points. All under cover so no need to worry about damp conditions.

Family Nature Trail

Our family nature trail is a waymarked route around the Cliffe House grounds, taking you through mature woodland & open glades. Look out for boards along the trail with flora and fauna guides, use the map to answer the questions from the boards. Play natural noughts and crosses, make some natural art with fallen branches, nuts, leaves etc. Make a mudface or sculpture. At the end of the trail return your completed map to our kiosk & earn yourself a tasty treat.

When? Monday 13 to Friday 17 February 2023- 10.00am – 4.00pm

Woodcraft

Using traditional woodcraft tools you will learn to construct a woodland sculpture to take home with you. A fun filled instructor led session with all equipment provided.

When? Tuesday 14 February 2023

Cost? £8.00 per person

Bushcraft

Book on for our fantastic instructor led bushcraft activity. This is the perfect family activity for all to sit around a campfire toasting marshmallows, making & cooking your own garlic bread twist, all washed down with a warming hot chocolate. Please advise us of any special dietary requirements. No need to worry about the damp conditions – this session is based under cover within our woodland.
