‘Sharing Stories Standing Strong’ is an art project delivered in partnership by Kirklees Libraries and Lawrence Batley Theatre. It aims to improve health and wellbeing and tackle isolation by encouraging residents to join in and take part.
Whether you are of a creative nature, want to learn something new or simply want to head out and meet new people, these free art sessions could be the perfect excuse.
Where are the sessions?
Local artist Rachael Gorton is delivering the sessions from Dewsbury Library. From exploring colour, nature and experimental painting tools and with some sessions for all the family, there is something for all ages to enjoy.

The artists will work with residents to create new artwork inspired by local stories.

Supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England, the project was originally organised in response to isolation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Although some time has past since lockdowns, many people still feeling the impact of the pandemic.
