Our libraries are now open for the little ones to have fun, to learn and discover new things and we’re so excited to welcome you in!

Lego club

Get creative and build exciting things with Lego at this fun and free family drop-in session. Boxes of Lego provided. Children of all ages welcome.

A friendly and fun session with stories and crafts. A great interactive way to develop children’s language and social skills while meeting with other parents and carers.

Bounce and Rhyme at Kirkheaton Library

Songs and rhymes are a wonderful introduction to the magical world of stories. We’re excited to announce that we have a very special, brand new rhymetime starting soon! Join us at Kirkheaton Library for 30 minutes of songs, rhymes and stories, led by Musica Kirklees’ Early Childhood Music Specialist, Ben Lawrence.

Fun and exciting trails, during opening hours, drop in from 12:00 pm on weekends!

Explore what’s happening at Cliffe House

Archery

Join our activity instructors in learning how to draw the arrow, balance the bow & fire at a distance target – Challenge your family members as to who can score the greatest points. All under cover so no need to worry about damp conditions.

Cost: £7.00 per person + booking fee (you only need to purchase a ticket if participating in the activity)

Easter Egg Hunt

Get outdoors and enjoy our fun Easter trail around the grounds of Cliffe House.
Wind your way through our wonderful woodland, uncovering clues that lead to a magical word before collecting your Easter Egg prize from the food kiosk in the adventure playground.
The trail is family and buggy friendly, something the whole family can enjoy.

Date: 25 March at 10:00 am to 5 April at 3:00 pm

Cost: £5.00 per trail sheet + booking fee (1 prize per paid trail sheet)

Natural arts and crafts

Explore our woods and paths to collect materials to create naturally inspired arts and crafts for you to take home.

Date: 26 March at 10:00 am to 26 March at 2:00 pm

Cost: £10.00 per person + booking fee (you only need to purchase a ticket if participating in the activity)

Bushcraft

Book on for our fantastic instructor led Bushcraft activity. This is the perfect family activity for all to sit around a campfire toasting marshmallows, making & cooking your own garlic bread twist, all washed down with a warming hot chocolate. Please advise us of any special dietary requirements. No need to worry about the damp conditions – this session is based under cover within our woodland.

Woodcraft

Using traditional woodcraft tools you will learn to construct a woodland sculpture to take home with you.
