September 2025
Here are some of the planned roadworks due to start in September. For details of all roadworks, head to our Roadworks webpage and view the live maps.
There can be lots of reasons for road works including resurfacing, making repairs, improving layouts, and replacing traffic signage and markings.
We also support other organisations to carry out essential works, for example utilities companies whose pipes and wires run under the roads and developers who need to change road access to complete works.
Whatever the reason we aim to minimise disruption and complete work as efficiently as possible.

Investing in our towns
Investment in transport infrastructure is key to our wider town centre project. From potholes to bus stations, we’re committed to developing better transport links to support our exciting regeneration schemes.
There will be some disruptions along the way, but the long-term benefits will be worth the journey. Visit our website for details of the major projects in our towns and villages.
Transpeninne Route Upgrade (TRU)
Huddersfield Rail Station is closed throughout September. Rail replacement busses will be operating. The closure will have an impact on our roads too. However you travel, please plan ahead and give yourself some extra time. View upcoming closures and changes to services on the Transpennine Route Upgrade website.
