On Christmas Day, families get together to exchange gifts, eat too much, drink too much, have blazing rows and tell each other how much better Christmas was back in the day. Well, back in the days of the 17th century, things were very different: Christmas Day was for religious observance, festive but quite understated; New Year’s Day was for the exchange of gifts; and the festivities ended with the big family knees-up on Twelfth Night. Join our “family” as they get ready to party!

When: Wednesday 14 January, 11am

Where: Oakwell Hall

Cost: £10
