Local creative students have the opportunity to design the official posters for next year’s Tour de France Femmes!
What’s happening?
As you might already know, Kirklees will be part of the route for the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift in 2027. This is big news – not just for local sport but for all the extra opportunities it’ll bring to Kirklees.
Grand Départ GB, who run the Tour de France and Tour de France Femmes whenever the races take place in Great Britain, have launched this competition as part of their new social impact programme, Joy.
As well as an exciting opportunity to see your design in action on an international stage, this is a chance that could help kickstart your career. The winning artwork will be seen by millions, not just on the routes but televised across the UK and worldwide – and these races are some of the most-watched sporting events across the globe. At the grand départ of your creative career, this is an opportunity to go global!
How to enter
Further and higher education students in art, design, graphics, photography and other creative courses are invited to enter their designs by 5pm on Friday 26 June 2026.
You don’t need to have any previous connection to the sport – just a flare for design and a good idea. This competition is about changing the life of one local person looking to make their career in design.
Visit the Tour De France website to get more details and make your entry. Good luck and bonne chance!
What happens next?
The two winning designs will be revealed this October in Paris as part of the official presentation about the routes – both of which, next year, are in the UK. Fun fact: this will be the first time both races have ever happened in the same country outside of France, and it’s happening in Britain! But don’t forget that, as the route passing through Kirklees next year will be the women’s race, you’ll be entering designs specifically for the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift.
There should be lots more opportunities coming to Kirklees residents through the JOY programme over the coming year, bringing benefits above and beyond the wonderful world of cycling for local people and organisations. Keep your eyes peeled on our channels, follow the Tour de France Grand Départ 2027 Facebook page or visit the website for more updates!
