Connecting Kirklees: Roadworks update for November 2026

Roadworks

Here are some of the planned roadworks due to start in November. For details of all roadworks, head to our Roadworks webpage and view the live map.

There can be lots of reasons for road works including resurfacing, making repairs, improving layouts, and replacing traffic signage and markings.

Remembrance Day Parades and Christmas Events

Sometimes an event may require traffic management. This month, there are some Remembrance service parades, and many towns and villages across Kirklees are kicking off their Christmas celebrations. The national roadworks map displays these as public events, represented by a poppy or a Santa hat.

Whatever the reason we aim to minimise disruption and complete work as efficiently as possible.

Winter maintenance

The cold weather is definitely on it’s way, which means the first grit of the seasons is almost upon us.

Our gritters are large vehicles, so they need plenty of space to travel around and make the roads safe.

If you live on a gritting route, please park considerately so that our gritters can get through to grit your road.

Find out about our gritting routes on the Connecting Kirklees website.
