From 16 – 29 January, Great Winter Get Together events are taking pace across Kirklees. With lots of free events and activities, it’s the perfect excuse to head out, meet up with friends old and new and make meaningful connections.
It’s the ideal opportunity to remember the importance of feeling connected and seen. From checking in on a neighbour or elderly relative or heading to a local event at your nearest library or warm space, learn what you have in common with people in your community.
Head to your local Warm Space
Our warm spaces are friendly and comfortable places where you can keep warm and be with other people. We have 24 libraries across Kirklees that will be used as Warm Spaces and everyone is welcome.
Libraries offer a warm and comfortable environment. Including free Wi-Fi, free access to computers, free borrowing of books, free events and activities, and signposting to support and advice with money, bills, and food.

Hosting your own Great Winter Get Together?
If you’re thinking about hosting your own event, maybe a coffee morning at the local community centre or cafe, an exercise group or online quiz perhaps, let others know and register your event online, making it easier for people to find you and connect. There are lots of resources to help you organise and promote your event on the Great Get Together website including an event planning checklist, invitation templates, social media graphics and posters!
