Beaumont Park voted ‘Local Favourite’ in UK’s Favourite Parks Awards 2022

Park rangers stood next to sign

A much-loved Kirklees Park has won a coveted national award.

Beaumont Park in Huddersfield is one of just 70 parks and green spaces from across the UK to achieve “Local Favourite” status in the Fields in Trust coveted UK’s Favourite Parks 2022 award.

Hundreds of residents voted for Beaumont Park in the Favourite Parks Award – proving what a much-loved asset it is to the Kirklees community.

The park, which is kept beautifully by our hardworking gardeners, with support from volunteers, recently kept its green flag status and is a hugely popular place to visit.

Councillor Will Simpson, Cabinet Member for Culture and Greener Kirklees, said:

“Thank you to all who nominated Beaumont Park for this prestigious award. The accolade is testament to the hard work and commitment of the council officers and Friends of Beaumont Park volunteers who do so much to keep the park looking beautiful all year round.”

The UK’s Favourite Parks award is organised by green space charity Fields in Trust who, for almost 100 years, have legally protected parks and green spaces ensuring they will always be available for future generations to enjoy.
