Show your support for this year’s poppy appeal

Poppys

The Mayor of Kirklees Cllr Masood Ahmed is appealing to local people to support the poppy appeal again this year and to remember the fallen.

Communities throughout Kirklees will come together on Remembrance Sunday on 13 November to remember those who have given their lives in conflict.

In 2022 the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal will focus on how your poppy shows you care and helps the RBL to continue its vital work supporting the Armed Forces.

Cllr Ahmed said:

“Remembrance Day gives us all the opportunity to show our thanks for those who have served and are currently serving in our armed forces.

“Wearing a poppy is a symbol of your thanks and gratitude to those brave men and women so please look out for poppy appeal collectors in your community and give generously.

“Friends and family continue to suffer the loss of loved ones in conflicts around the world. Some service personnel return needing both physical and mental rehabilitation.

“Money raised from the Poppy Appeal provides this essential care and support for all those who need it.”
