Local Offer Live showcases support for children and young people with SEND
To find out more about the support available for children and young people with SEND (special educational needs and disabilities), head to the ‘Local Offer Live’ event this July.
Local Offer Live 2024
Together with independent charity, PCAN (Parents of Children with Additional Needs), we’re hosting Local Offer Live, a free event.
It’s an opportunity to learn about local services offering support for families of children and young people aged 0-25 with SEND, as well as a chance to meet up with other families to share experiences and support.
You’ll find more than 60 organisations at the event with a wide range of information on topics like inclusive activities, children’s therapy, mental health support and much more.
As well as the chance to chat with experts, families are invited to watch a range of video workshops throughout the day, featuring subjects such as Early Years, support from school and supported employment, and can spend time networking with other local families.
When and where
‘Local Offer Live’ is on Tuesday 9 July from 10am to 6pm, at John Smith’s Stadium, Stadium Way, Huddersfield, HD1 6PG.
Interpreter support will be available at the event. There is free, accessible parking onsite as well as food vendors nearby.

“It’s a pleasure to be working closely with PCAN, our local parent and carer organisation, to bring Local Offer Live back to Kirklees for another year. This friendly, informal event has always been popular with families as it gathers information and experts together into one, convenient place. It provides an opportunity to learn more about the support available locally and ask questions. But importantly, it’s a chance to meet up with other local families in similar circumstances and share lived experiences and support each other.
“We want children have the best start in life which is why we have a continuing commitment to providing excellent outcomes for those with additional needs. In addition to this, by helping families to be aware of, and access all available support, we can help ensure children and young people with SEND fulfil their potential as they grow to lead happy, healthy lives.”
