Kirklees Students Celebrate GCSE Success
Young people across Kirklees are celebrating today after receiving their GCSE results, marking a significant milestone in their educational journey.
The class of 2025 has seen over 5000 students sitting GCSEs in schools and colleges across the district, with some exceptional individual performances.
Whether you are celebrating GCSEs, vocational qualifications, or followed a different path entirely, your hard work, progress, and achievements matter.
Councillor Jane Rylah, Cabinet member for Education, said:
“I am incredibly proud of the achievements of our young people. Their hard work, determination, and resilience have been reflected in their results, and they can now look ahead to a range of exciting post-16 opportunities.
“Taking GCSEs or vocational qualifications is a major milestone in a young person’s life. It brings the beginning of a new chapter but is also the culmination of many years of learning.
“I also want to recognise the vital role played by schools, teachers, and families in supporting students through this important stage of their education.”
This year’s success is part of a wider ambition outlined in Our Kirklees Futures, a shared vision for high-quality learning across the district through to 2030.
This long-term strategy brings together education settings from early years to post-16, alongside wider partners, to make Kirklees a place where learners thrive, enjoy exceptional experiences, and develop a lifelong love of learning.”
