Our REAL Employment service awarded national accreditation for ‘outstanding progress’

REAL Employment service with national accreditation award

Our REAL Employment service has once again, received national accreditation from the British Association of Supported Employment (BASE).

Recognising their dedication to supporting adults with learning disabilities and autism who are looking for work, the 2025 BASE accreditation report awarded our REAL Employment Service as having made ‘outstanding progress’. A marked improvement on last year’s accreditation.

REAL Employment ensures that individuals receive the best possible assistance to find, maintain, and excel in jobs that match their skills and strengths supporting adults aged 18+ with learning disabilities, autism, and/or additional needs in securing employment. The service matches individuals’ interests and skills to suitable job opportunities, providing personalised support throughout the job search and employment process.

Councillor Nosheen Dad, Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care said:

“REAL Employment has been supporting adults with learning disabilities and autism for more than 30 years, and we remain deeply committed to helping individuals achieve financial independence wherever possible.

Our highly dedicated team provides tailored, one-to-one support to some of our most vulnerable residents, assisting them in securing employment opportunities that align with their abilities and aspirations.

This accreditation from BASE stands as a strong endorsement of the team’s professionalism, dedication, and unwavering commitment to empowering people with learning disabilities and autism to access meaningful, sustainable employment.”
