What is the Tidy Trader competition?

Tidy Trader is a council initiative supporting small businesses in Heckmondwike and Cleckheaton. Created out of Place Standards engagement work, where residents told us what mattered most about their local area, the scheme is linked to the wider regeneration programme and funded by the ward budget.

Each quarter, judges visit participating businesses and score them on cleanliness, creativity, accessibility and window display quality. The winner receives a bespoke package of professional marketing support, tailored to whatever the business needs most.

Shades of Hair follows Total Travel, which was named the first Heckmondwike Tidy Trader winner last year.
