A huge ‘well done’ to all the pupils across Kirklees who have been collecting their GCSE results.

Behind every set of results is a unique story. The achievements of our young people reflect much more than performance in an examination hall – they also represent determination, hard work, perseverance and personal growth.

Celebrating our young people

As the class of 2026 looks ahead, we are celebrating not just their results but their potential.

Cllr Rob Butler, Cabinet Member for Education and SEND, said:

“Today is a day to congratulate our young people on everything they have achieved. As a retired science teacher myself, I know these results stem from years of commitment and I believe our pupils should be incredibly proud of themselves.

“We should also remember the vital role played by teachers, school staff, friends and families. My own children attended school in Kirklees and, as a parent, I know the build-up to results day can be nerve-wracking – so the support of families is very important.

“Thank you to everyone who has contributed to giving a bright future to young people across our local communities. I’m sure many of them will go on to achieve amazing things.”
