When is it?

On 27 February The Local Plan, which provides a framework for housing and job growth over the next 15 years, is being brought to Full Council.

What is it about?

Several years in the making, it outlines our ambitions for the future of our towns and villages, to boost economic growth, build the homes needed, create healthier communities and attract business investment.

Development of the plan has included a large-scale public consultation, which was taken into account and backed by the government inspector.

The council has a vital role to play in creating the right conditions for our local economy to thrive, ensuring Kirklees is a great place to live, work and invest. That’s exactly what we’re aiming to achieve with this plan.

This is a plan for everyone in Kirklees so we’re urging people to tune-in via the council’s website to learn more about our ambitions and how we plan to achieve them.”
